The founders of Senia tell how their sustainable jewelry brand started – Low Calorie Diets Tips

When Christina Senia graduated from college in 2016 majoring in mechanical engineeringyou had looked through her college ring catalog and noticed the lack of options available for women. “I researched the story and found that graduation rings were invented by men and for men before women could go to school,” says Senia GRAZIA USA. “Interestingly, I found that even more women than men are now graduating from college.”

This inspired her to take matters into her own hands and create her own college ring. Christina used the same software she used in her engineering lab to create the design, which was a stacked ring of Roman numerals now dubbed “The Halo Ring.” Soon friends wanted their own “halo” and what started out as just making a few rings for friends eventually became so much more.

In 2018, at a party, Christina met a woman who loved her one-of-a-kind, one-of-a-kind college ring. “I found out that this woman came from Vince and is now Zimmerman’s president, and I was like, ‘Well, okay, if she says it, we have to do it,'” recalls Christina.

As demand for products increased, Christina knew she had to find someone to help her, and who better than her sister, Gina Senia. Gina graduated from college with a degree in Business Administration in 2021 and, like Christina, was passionate about creating meaningful, beautiful jewelry that is sustainable and size conscious.

Together, the Senia sisters decided to create their own sustainable jewelry brand, Senia, which launched in 2020. Gina works on the business side of Senia, helping with the financial aspect and also burdening the creative parts.

In addition to commemorative rings, the brand creates other must-have pieces, such as the Infinity earrings, which can be worn 50 ways, and the overall product offering includes items that aren’t meant to be chic, functional, and accessible.

But it wasn’t all a walk in the park. “I knocked on doors in the diamond district – nobody wanted to work with us. Being an engineer, I had this whole vision of making everything functional and modular, which means a lot of extra work,” explains Christina.

The start of the pandemic was not easy either. “We took advice from people in the industry and similar verticals, and pretty much everyone advised us not to go to market at the time, but we did it anyway,” says Gina. “I think it was almost a blessing in disguise because there was so much that we had to deal with up front because of delivery delays and just the whole world shutting down.”

The Senia sisters thought they would only sell the signet rings as graduation or college rings. “A lot of people bought them for anniversaries, birthdays, to commemorate lost loved ones, just general things that the pandemic stole from us,” says Christina.

One of their best-selling items, the Infinity Earrings, was inspired by sheer comfort. “I was packing for a weekend getaway and checking my jewelry box. It was chaos,” Christina recalls. She wondered why all her earrings were combinations of circles. “I just wanted to make a set that I could wear a million ways. I don’t want to think about it anymore.”

The convenience and functionality of the “Infinity Earrings” turned out to be a smart product. “They sold out within 24 hours. I couldn’t believe the reaction,” says Christina.

Aside from Senia’s versatile designs, a key focus of the brand is to be inclusive and offer sizes from 4 to 12, although the brand can also make rings in any size.

In addition to inclusivity, sustainability is also a priority at Senia. “I realized how dirty the industry is,” says Christina. “There is no real concern for sustainability. But one thing that’s great about jewelry in general is that it’s a sustainable product at its core. It’s supposed to last forever.”

“I’m always trying to make something new out of what’s already there,” Christina continues. “I have two things under my control, the materials I use and the design.” Christina decided she can do her part by designing and sourcing more sustainably through recycled metals while creating jewelry that appeals to different people Can be styled in any number of ways and look new every time.

Gina adds: “Senia focuses on the customer’s wishes. Christina really tries to live up to them. I think the relationship between Christina and the customer is super strong. They always want feedback on what they want to see next and what they’re missing in their closet.”
