German-inspired beer garden with Texas roots chooses global strategic brand architecture and design firm Harrison to bring a brand new concept to life
DALLAS (June 8, 2022) — Old 75 Beer Garden brings the essence of “coziness” — a state of instilling a sense of warmth, kindness, and belonging — to the Richardson community when the all-new concept opens this fall Debut Celebrates!
With the help of Dallas-based, award-winning architecture and design practice Harrison, Old 75 Beer Garden opens as a casual, outdoor, Texan-style beer garden where adults and families can gather, relax and sip ice-cold beer, enjoy a cocktail, good food eat, listen to live music, watch their favorite sports team and play a few games. Harrison will serve as the concept designer for the Old 75 Beer Garden, which will consist of brand strategy, choice of materials, finishes and FF&E, and curation of artworks. Harrison’s strategic service also includes naming and coordinating artwork to add personality and storytelling moments to capture the essence of the brand and connect with guests.
Capturing the essence of a beer garden
“We developed the concept based on our experiences during the COVID shutdown, which forced people to enjoy outdoor spaces differently than in the past. We are very excited to be working with Harrison as they help us bring it to life,” said Kirk Hermansen, owner/operator of Old 75 Beer Garden. “We wanted to introduce an outdoor space in the Richardson area that embodies a bit of the Matthew McConaughey Texas vibe where locals can come together for any gathering, be it a birthday, graduation, work outing and more. We want to capture the essence of what a “beer garden” is all about – a communal meeting place where everyone is welcome and that offers “coziness”. We can’t wait to officially open our doors this fall and quickly establish ourselves as the go-to place for Good Cheer. Good friends. Good times.’ in this Texas weather.”
Harrison will work with Old 75 Beer Garden to design a unique 15,000 square foot outdoor space with communal seating under the shade of 12 magnificent Live Oak trees. The Old 75 Beer Garden serves Dog Haus hot dogs, sausages and burgers and features a “guy kitchen” and food trucks that offer rotating seasonal menu items.
Drinks are served from the “Tap Bar” and “Drink Bar” – a converted shipping container offering a unique indoor and outdoor bar experience – with 50 drinks on tap, full cocktail service and canned beverages. Guests can rent a cabana for casual gatherings, play games on the game court, enjoy s’mores around the fire pit, listen to local musicians from the live stage and watch the Dallas Cowboys on the big screen and over 20 additional TVs – all below the cool, shady canopy of mighty oaks.
