Book and cookan online children’s cookery series from Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, Urban Seeds and Lyle’s Station Legacy Taste of the Garden, begins Saturday 25th June and will continue one Saturday a month through November.
Young cooks in grades 3-5 learn about food and cooking, local food systems, land use and more. All ingredients and basic cooking utensils will be provided and available for collection at EVPL on Friday 24th June. Registration is required by June 20 at events.evpl.org/events. If you miss the first class, you can register for a later one. Children are encouraged to register for more than one class.

cap & cork is an up-and-coming Henderson restaurant in the former Tacoholics and Water Street Café building. The building is being remodeled and expanded and will open this fall with a fine dining menu based on locally sourced produce.

Mexican restaurant El Mariachi will replace El Rio on North Green River Road. El Rio will continue its service as usual until the move to the new store is ready.

The Hornville Tavern now serving Sunday brunch from 9am. The menu includes biscuits and gravy, pancakes, egg and meat platters, omelettes, and drinks including Bloody Marys or mimosas for $4.50.

It needs a no kill rescue of the village will be host Paws and Claws Black and White Pawty Fundraiser at Bally’s Evansville Casino Pavilion. A buffet includes Caesar salad, pasta with marinara sauce, herb fried chicken Milano, roasted Italian vegetables, garlic Parmesan bread, tiramisu, and drinks. There will be a cash bar, auctions, live entertainment and more. Tickets are $50 per person, $90 per couple, or $350 for a table of eight.

Cafe Milchscheune will soon occupy the former Read St. BBQ building. The former food truck, which served freshly fried “Feuerkuchen” donuts and coffee, is expected to open on July 4 with an expanded menu.

The Evansville rescue mission Mission Grounds Cafe will have a grand opening on Saturday 25th June in conjunction with June Evansville Farmers Marketthat will illuminate the Evansville Rescue Mission.
The Mission campus, Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Store, and Evansville Farmers Market are all located at Washington Square Mall, 5001 Washington Ave.
Oasis Dementia Care will be host Bake sale on the longest day on Tuesday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to benefit the Alzheimers Association. All items are sold for $1.

That Prime time pub and grill will open a second restaurant on North Highway 41 in the former Roca Bar North building. Prime Time’s first restaurant is in Newburgh and is celebrated for its friendly and informal atmosphere, which combines elements of a sports bar and a steakhouse. The restaurant is known for premium ribs and steaks, house-made fries, giant burgers, creative flatbreads, house-made beer cheese, large appetizer salads, pasta and more. The opening is planned for late summer.
